Completed Willowtry3 people found this review helpful Story Acting/Cast Music Rewatch Value In short >>Better written than most dramas I've seen, but not my cup of tea<< How long this took me I cannot say. A month ? It must be around that. The reason isn't the writing or the acting, but simply because it isn't my thing. I cared, at first ; but through the episodes, I cared less and less, all I wanted was to finish it. Story As I said, it is better written than most dramas I've experienced, which, considering the average level isn't too hard. Unlike most dramas, it doesn't lose itself in endless fanservice, it doesn't go in every directions to the point some episodes feel pointless. It knows where it goes, what is its points and try developing and going for it while avoiding digressions as much as possible. Despite that, some doors are opened and lead to nothing, typical mistake from dramas, but in comparison, it isn't as common and has to be therefore praised. It also has some stupid moments, especially the ending, which is incoherent with the first episode and seems to be a twist for the sake of a twist ; it is sad, but doesn't stop that, overall, it is a better piece of writing than the average drama. Characters I don't have much to say, you have the mentally handicaped character, because drama trope ! well, doesn't stop it to work on me XD You cannot speak of real chara development, especially the sidekicks, as for the main characters... Well, they are a bit more complex than your average drama characters but aren't groundbreaking. I do have some issues with some bad mentalities some chara vehiculate we are in 2015, please, evolve and the treatment of the husband, which, thanksfully isn't limited to the cheater stereotype, that I have to praise as well, it brings up the high issues of justice in terms of divorce and child care...by copying what is so wrong with it is quite annoying and frustrating ; once again, we are in 2015, learn justice and equality. Acting & Soundtrack They do their job properly. Really, I have nothing to say about it in particular. Filming Once again, better than the average drama By, for example, knowing how transitions work, how they are used and when. It sounds like some basic thing, but it is to point out most dramas do not seem to know said basic. Rewatch value As I didn't like it, I won't rewatch it. But if you're the type not getting how transitions work, you can always rewatch it and pay attention to how they are done. Overall It's a shame that what is better than average is something that I dislike on personal taste. I do hope, though, that it fits the tastes of others. If you are into fanservice, exaggerated melodrama or other stuff like that, it is better you skip it, you'll be utterly disappointed. Read More Was this review helpful to you? A few years ago, I thought Korean drama God's Gift 14 Days was quite nice a story; it was suspenseful, you'll be rooting for the mother as she scrambles to undo her daughter's death, that kind of stuff. Personally I absolutlely love it when there is a special or "extra" content, and there even is a special clip of the directors ending cut, so a few more pieces were put together, but not entirely, you'll have to see for yourself. Also the preview of "Doctor Stranger" was quick and really fun! Are you too eager to see Lee Jong Suk again? Then you're in luck, there's a little "interview" for him as well as the other main leads, and we get to know their characters a bit more. So, overall I really enjoyed it and a 9 might be a bit high for a behind the scenes, but I score it after what it is and supposed to be - not for what it's not. We don't know why but she is given a second chance to save her daughter and herself by going back in time. The early episodes are excellent as we are thrilled by our heroine's courage followed by despair when it seems like every time the little girl is rescued, another hurdle came along, as though all roads lead to the same inescapable Bo Young is one of my favorite Korean actresses and her performance here is flawless. Her costar Cho Seung-woo is absolutely brilliant as well. He saved the show by his rebellious and so endearing character, what charisma this actor radiates even when he's playing a burnout depressive ex-cop! The little girl is so adorably cute that you just want the show to have more screen time with her, her mom and the ex-cop, instead of scenes after scenes of our leads running after one mysterious serial killer after that's my problem with this show. Without giving away main storyline or spoilers, it seems to me that the script writer equates thrill with the number of serial killers, other bad guys and riddles you can fit into a 16-episode series. How many times can a girl be kidnapped within a story? More than in 24 season 1 for those who have watched that adrenaline-filled classic with Kiefer Sutherland. Instead of a coherent storyline and a fitting ending whether it is happy or tragic we're given a series of riddles and action scenes and an ending that made no sense in terms of providing a logical conclusion that is believable - even within the context of a supernatural thriller. Since this is fiction, I have no issue with the premise of a "second chance". What I am not able to accept is a pseudo-artistic ending where the characters behave in ways beyond any reason with an outcome that's not justified or explained in any would rate the lead actors a 10 while the script and direction get a 4. So while I enjoyed the fantastic performance of the trio of actors, I can only commiserate with them to be letdown by such a miserable script which doesn't know how to tell and end a story, despite a very good start and 3, 2020Contribute to this pageSuggest an edit or add missing contentBy what name was God's Gift 14 Days 2014 officially released in Canada in English?AnswerEdit pageAdd episodeMore to exploreRecently viewedYou have no recently viewed pages
